The Korda Kamakura Krank Size 2 (10pc) is an extremely sharp and very popular Kamakura Krank hook. The Kamakura sharpening process produces a hook point that is just as good as a hand sharpened hook, but without all the time and effort of doing it yourself. The Kamakura Krank has a unique shape, with a very wide opening, a fairly short, curved shank and a slightly inward-turned eye – the inward-turned effect is accentuated by the shape of the shank and the way it runs to the eye. The tip, which is slightly beak-shaped, is offset and this shape helps it to “crank” its way in once it has an initial hold. These hooks are very strong and feature a micro barb that does not hinder penetration, but allows the hook to stay in place. A barbless version is also available. The Krank can be used with a wide range of different rigs and is incredibly effective even with a simple knotless knot, or it can be used with more complicated setups, such as the Spinner Rig preferred by Tom Dove himself. The tips are protected by a cap of wax that must be carefully removed before use, and the hooks come in a box that holds each individual hook firmly in place. Packed per 10 pieces!
