This adapter works like a multiple socket, allowing you to obtain 3 sockets from one PCIe 1x slot. The base fits into a PCI Express 1x, 2x, 4x or 16x slot on a server or desktop PC. The daughterboard, connected to the base by a 60cm cable, has 3 PCIe 1x ports that you can use independently. You can replace this cable with a longer or shorter one, as it's a simple USB3 type A male / A male cable (but beware of its quality if you want to replace our supplied cable!). If you need to power the PCIe ports, you can use one of the two connectors (Sata/molex) to link the daughterboard to the PC power supply.
