Zatar or Satar or Za'atar, is a traditional spice blend that comes from North African and Oriental cuisine. It is not surprising that it is one of the most popular spice mixtures there as well as in the Middle East and Turkey. Sounds pretty wild? That's it! The spice Zatar has many flavours. It is characterised by the wild thyme and sumac, with the sumac bringing a fresh, tart citrus note and at the same time tastes nutty thanks to the roasted sesame seeds. The oriental all-rounder Za atar fits many dishes, such as on bread, as a dip or for refining as well as minced meat dishes or as a marinade. Completely natural, our Zatar spice comes without flavour enhancers, preservatives, dyes or additives.
