The extended length of the Lucky 13 lends itself well to harmonica tunings that repeat every four holes, as they require extra holes to achieve the same 3 octave range as Richter in a 10-hole harp. ONLY TUNING is the best known of these. It is used on 99% of the chromatic harmonics sold, so many musicians will know it. A great tuning for playing pop melodies, it is also ideal for playing third position Blues and Celtic music. It's actually exactly the same scale as the 4-7 holes of a standard diatonic Richter, so all harp players will instantly feel at home with it. Only simply repeats this pattern throughout the harp. My Lucky 13 in Single Tuning is available in the keys of D, G, and King. It is half-valve, offering expressive and strong puff notes, as well as flexible suction notes on odd holes. I chose the popular Orchestra variant of Solo Tuning, where the scale starts a fifth under the tonic note. WATCH THE VIDEO to get a good taste of what this Lucky 13 sounds like!
