An elegant, compact design and a relatively large spool give these reels ideal features. A shallow spool prevents unnecessary backing and thus effectively reduces weight. The line clip and spool edge are perfectly smooth and rounded, so that the (braided) line will not be damaged on them. The special triangular design ensures that the line stays well behind the clip. The crank can be collapsed by turning it backwards and independently of the bracket position and can be placed short against the body. This is ideal for rigged storage in a holdall. The smooth-running drag and anti-return system also make this reel perfect for method/carp fishing. Avantor S reels come with an aluminum spare spool.
