AmazonSuede is the back of leather that is sanded to give it a soft, supple look. It comes from farms in Rio Grande do Sul and is tanned in Brazil without the use of dangerous or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses dyes that comply with regulations and is sparingly with water during the tanning process. The suede is then coated with PFC-free water-repellent oils (chemical compounds) to protect the shoes from light rain.
