American Hickory: The Session drumsticks are made from North American hickory wood. Hickory is denser, harder and heavier than maple, while also being more elastic than oak. The wood absorbs a large part of the vibration energy on impact and is dried to a residual moisture of 10 to 12 percent. Dimensions: The stick is 16 inch / 40.64 cm long and has a diameter of 0.570 inch / 1.45 cm. The grip feel is based on the comfortable grip feel of a traditional 5A stick. Shorter taper: The Session model has a shorter taper. This shifts the weight forward. This design is one of the model's specific characteristics. Acorn-shaped wood tip: The tip is made of wood and has a small acorn shape. Together with the shorter taper, the tip is designed for a crisp punch and distinguishes the Session model from a classic 5A. Precise manufacturing: The sticks are computer-controlled turned and precisely ground. A computer system analyses weight, timbre or frequency and balance, before only correspondingly matched pairs are put together.
