To determine the breathing rate, start the chronograph at the beginning of a breath and stop it after five breaths. The second hand then shows the breaths per minute. Pulsometer scale (heart rate): This scale is used to measure the heart rate, i.e. the number of heartbeats per minute. To determine the heart rate, start the chronograph and count 30 pulse beats. Then stop the chronograph, and the second hand shows the heart rate per minute on the pulsometer scale. Tachymeter Scale: For measuring speed and distance.
