Caffeine free red bush tea grown from the Aspalathus linearis shrub of South Africa, blended with mango and rosehip for a naturally sweet, fruity cup. With no caffeine you can drink it in the morning or late in the evening without affecting sleep. The leaf steeps to a deep amber red with a smooth body and very little of the tannin sharpness found in black or green tea. The aroma is bright and tropical, led by ripe mango with a light floral tartness from rosehip over the honeyed, earthy base of the red bush. Flavor is mellow and naturally sweet, staying low in bitterness even after a long steep. A fruit forward herbal cup that drinks well whether served warm or over ice. Easy to prepare. Use about one teaspoon per eight ounce cup, add fully boiling water at 212F, and steep five to seven minutes. Rooibos will not turn bitter with extra time, so the timing is forgiving. Strain through a fine infuser or filter bag, since the small cut leaf can slip through a wide mesh strainer. Serve it hot or brew a stronger batch and pour it over ice for a chilled pitcher on warm days. The mango and rosehip character holds up when cold and needs little or no added sweetener. Try it plain, with a slice of orange, or lightly sweetened with honey for a fruity drink the whole household can enjoy. Packed as loose leaf rather than bags, so you control the strength and can reuse the leaf for a second, lighter steep. Store it in a sealed tin or jar away from heat and direct light and the blend keeps its aroma for many months. A tropical fruit red bush infusion that suits daily sipping and makes a practical gift tin.
