How to lift a reinforced galvanized manhole cover: wear protective gloves to protect your hands from dirt and improve your grip on the cover. Use a suitable lifting tool: a dedicated manhole lifting key or a sturdy metal bar can be used as a lever. Insert the end of the tool into the designated hole or slot in the cover. Apply upward force: once the tool is securely positioned, lever it upwards to lift the cover. Be careful of dirt and debris: when the cover is lifted, the underside may be dirty or wet. Take care when deciding where to place it. Reinstall correctly: after completing the necessary inspections or maintenance, make sure the cover is properly repositioned, securely fitted into the frame, and stable.
