Please note: the eARC adapter does not support operation on the HDMI-ARC connection of a soundbar. The connected sound system requires a normal HDMI input which must be connected to the adapter. Mode 1 - eARC Audio Extractor - Connect your XBox Series X, PS5 or other HDMI2.1 device to your new 8K / 4k 120Hz TV while you continue to use your old AVR. Uncompressed 5.1/7.1 surround sound as well as ATMOS and DTS can be extracted from your TV's eARC or ARC port to any standard HDMI input (not the eARC port) of your older AVR or soundbar. Satellite TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, or any other app on your TV will benefit from the highest possible audio content. Mode 2 - Audio Splitter - With the local HDMI input and turning off eARC extraction on the DIP switch, it is possible to split the audio stream from any HDMI multi-channel audio source and stream the video to any HDMI2.0 TV. The audio output provides a black 720p image to be compatible with any older AVR with HDMI 1.3 and above. Supports 18Gbps for resolutions up to 4K UltraHD 60Hz including HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, HDCP 2.3, Dolby Vision Passthrough, PCM 2.0, LPCM 5.1/7.1 including ATMOS and DTS. HDMI 2.0b / HDCP 2.3 compatible, signal equalizer, CEC pass-through and EDID management FAQ: In eARC mode, the adapter is compatible with HDMI 2.1 devices because only audio is processed and not video. Make sure the TV's eARC settings are enabled and the TV is set to ARC extraction as audio output. For all devices (but especially LG and Samsung TVs), make sure all firmware updates are downloaded and installed before you begin.
