100% PURE LANOLIN: Nothing but highly refined lanolin - the natural wax rendered from sheep's wool, also called wool fat or wool wax - in a 200 ml jar. One ingredient, nothing added and nothing diluted. A thick, protective salve for very dry hands, cracked heels, rough elbows, nails and chapped lips. The size most households settle on once the small jar runs out: enough for daily use right through a winter, or for a season of soap and balm making. UltraPure Lanolin: refined to pharmaceutical grade, anhydrous and fragrance-free, made without preservatives, fillers or BHT. Anhydrous is the point - hydrous lanolin comes pre-blended with water, ours does not, so the whole jar is lanolin. Fragrance-free means nothing is added for scent; refined lanolin still carries a faint natural smell of its own. Produced in the EU, from wool certified mulesing-free. EASY TO USE: Lanolin is firm in the jar and melts at 36–40 °C, so it softens with body heat. If it feels too hard, warm the jar briefly with a hairdryer or stand it somewhere warm; if your room is hot and the wax turns soft, chill the jar in the fridge for about an hour. Scoop a little, warm it between your fingertips and spread a thin layer straight onto the skin, with nothing else added. This is a rich wax, not a light lotion, so use less than you think and give it a minute to sink in. A thick layer can leave a greasy mark on fabric, so let it absorb before dressing or going to bed. FOR VERY DRY SKIN: Forms a protective barrier that helps skin hold on to the moisture it already has. Made for hands that split in winter, cracked heels, rough elbows, knuckles, nails and cuticles - and for the whole body wherever skin is tight or flaking. Shields against wind, rain, cold and constant hand-washing, so it suits nurses, hairdressers, gardeners, farmers, cyclists and sea swimmers. Fine on the face as well. Also used on chapped lips and on nipples. ONE INGREDIENT, MANY USES: Pure enough to use straight from the jar, or to blend into your own recipes - creams for dry skin, balms, salves, lotions, soaps, shampoos and shampoo bars, lip products - acting as an emollient and a water-in-oil emulsifier. Makers, spinners and hand-knitters use it to dress leather and to re-lanolise fleece: a little dissolved in warm water softens woollen clothes in the wash and stops knitwear clinging with static. With no water in it, it blends cleanly into oil-based formulations without splitting. CHOOSE YOUR SIZE: This is the 200 ml jar; the range runs 60 ml, 200 ml and 500 ml. The 60 ml suits everyday skin care and travels well, the 200 ml is where most people land once the small one runs out, and the 500 ml is for soap and balm makers, spinners re-lanolising fleece, and households refilling smaller pots. This jar holds more than three times the small one. Lanolin is a wool wax, so this is an animal-derived product, not a vegan one.
