This special model has a dial in North American NATO format and is equipped with a special hidden matte black, non-reflective PVC finish. This finish is often stipulated in contracts for the armed forces for many special forces as well as anti-terror units and for various covert operations. With PVD, the steel does not turn completely black, because the colour is created by a special chemical PVD coating process that is far superior to a painted surface, which is superior to some lower quality watches that can easily fade or be abrasive. The PVD process means that the colour of the steel is changed at the molecular level. Therefore, it will not fade even with very frequent use and stress.
