Satin is a weave known for its shiny surface on one side and a duller finish on the other. Its sheen ranges from subtle to high gloss. Lightweight satins like charmeuse offer a soft drape, while heavier types like duchess and mikado provide structure. Crepe-back satin is reversible, featuring a glossy satin side and a textured crepe side, allowing both finishes to be used in a garment for striking contrast. This is a lovely light weight fabric ideal for dressmaking. This fabric is available in a great variety of colours and weighs approximately 91 grams per square metre. Suggested Washing Instructions: 40 degrees. Please allow 10% shrinkage for all fabrics to be on the safe side and always test a sample first to find the most suitable way to wash your chosen fabrics.
