Merino wool is widely used in high-end sportswear. Merino is excellent at regulating body temperature, especially when worn directly against the skin. The wool provides some warmth without overheating the wearer. Like most wool fabrics, MERINO contains lanolin, which has antibacterial properties. Merino is one of the softest wool types available due to finer fibres. It transports moisture (sweat) away from the skin, the phenomenon is known as 'wicking'. The fabric is slightly moisture repellent (keratin fibres are hydrophobic at one end and hydrophiclic on the other), so the user does not feel damp. Wool absorbs water like cotton (up to 1/3 of its weight), but unlike cotton, it stays warm even when wet. Material: 80% merino, 20% polyamide, made in Spain, width approx. 9.8 cm
