The DRL-60-230 is a laser distance sensor designed for direct control of 230V AC lighting circuits, especially in hallways and staircases. Since the control here is a separate relay contact, this sensor can also be used for integration into any home automation system. The operating principle is based on the emission of a light beam and measuring the delay of the returning light due to reflection on an obstacle. On this basis, it is possible to accurately determine the distance of the obstacle. Distance of the obstacle, which is then compared to the set detection range. A prerequisite for turning on the light is the presence of an obstacle at a distance smaller than the set detection range and a brightness that is below the value set on the sensor. This solution is ideal for switching lighting circuits, e.g. on open stairs where it is important that the sensor only detects the presence on the stairs and ignores everything that happens outside the stairs.
