This breakout cable allows you to connect up to 4 SAS hard drives or SSDs with a 29-pin SFF-8482 connector to a single SlimSAS SFF-8643 connector available on a RAID controller card, HBA card, or professional storage expansion card. Because the SlimSAS SFF-8643 interface only transmits SAS data signals without power supply, this cable has 2 mandatory 15-pin SATA connectors to ensure proper power supply to the connected SAS devices. This cable is compatible with SAS 12Gb/s (SAS 3.0) infrastructure and ensures high speed data transfer with low signal loss thanks to the use of high quality professional amphenol connectors. Optional use: An integrated 8-pin sideband interface allows you to manage specific signaling or communication functions according to the needs of specific RAID controllers and advanced server environments. The cable works with and without a connected sideband interface. Important notes: SATA power supply is mandatory for operating the U.2 SSD via this interface.
