Amazon To install a 2230/2242/2260 or 2280 format SATA M.2 B+M Key SSD card in place of the 18+8-pin SSD found in 2012 Macs. For M.2 disks in SATA, B+M Key and 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 format only (fastening adjustable to the length of the M2 SSD). The adapter will enable the M2 SSD to be mounted in place of the original SSD on a 2012 MAC... To replace a MAC 2012 SSD only, not suitable for Mac SSDs produced before or after 2012.
