The instrument of the aborigines: the didgeridoo took its origin from the indigenous people of Australia and is also called Yidaki, Ulpirra, Gunbark, Aritjuda or Gurrmurr. The wind instrument is used there for communal music as well as for ceremonial purposes. Playing technology: the didgeridoo is slightly blown with relaxed, loose lips (the so-called lip flutters). The combinations of mouth movement, breathing technique, blow pressure change and voice effects create different, deep, bass-like tones. Therapeutic purposes: through targeted training, the didgeridoo can contribute to significant improvements in various respiratory diseases (e.g. respiratory apnea, chronic bronchitis or snoring). Elaborate design: beautiful, colourful dot painting or carving with animal motifs such as gecko or turtle. Diameter: approx. 6.5 cm. Length: approx. 120 cm. Variations in shape, size and pattern are not a defect, but a proof that these are real crafts. Fair trade goods: Direct import, fair trade, without intermediaries. We prefer small businesses. Reasonable wages and decent working conditions for employees are our main selection criteria. We are regularly on site to exchange ideas with producers and employees and get an idea of the conditions.
