Drawing inspiration from the brand's best-selling Ultra X series, Steven Mead has modified the contour and inner rim of the flange, designed a new curve in the deep part of the cup and modified the backbore to improve projection, in order to create a mouthpiece that offers better airflow, a more homogeneous tone and effortless articulation. The Steven Mead Ultra series is the latest evolution in euphonium mouthpieces. The outer shape has been modified to add more mass, which improves the projection. The evolved cup shape combines the best elements of a funnel shape and bowl shape to produce a classic euphonium/baritone sound with better support and better response on treble records.
