The Black Goji grows in China, Central Asia, parts of Russia and North and South America. The thorny bush up to two metres high is drought-resistant, can thrive in dry, sunny, high elevations and even on saline soils. Contains above-average ORAC value, which provides information about its antioxidant effect. They are said to have 14 times more antioxidants than the red gojis and thus capture more free radicals. The content of olygomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), iron, calcium, taurine, niacin, vitamin C and unsaturated fatty acids is also higher than other berries. In the countries of origin, black gojis are dried, brewed with water and drunk as a tea that has a blue to purple colour and tastes slightly bitter, like black tea.
