SEALS AND PROTECTS: Bacher butcher block and cutting board conditioner, 500 ml, blends food grade mineral oil with natural beeswax and carnauba wax. The oil carries the waxes down into the grain, and the waxes then set on the surface as a water-repellent film that shrugs off spills and stops the wood drinking in moisture. Chopping boards, blocks and worktops keep a soft satin sheen and are protected against drying and cracking. It is a rich honey colour in the bottle because of the high beeswax content, but it does not stain or tint the wood - it simply brings out the natural tone of the grain. Chemically stable, so it will not oxidise, turn rancid or taint food. MULTIPURPOSE WOOD CARE: One bottle covers the whole kitchen - chopping boards, cutting boards and serving boards in wood or bamboo, butcher blocks, wooden kitchen worktops and counters, salad bowls, spoons, spatulas and other utensils, and wooden tables. It also revives soapstone and slate boards, marble and granite countertops, refreshes the look of a tired granite sink, and a thin wiped film helps protect stainless steel knife blades. The same bottle works on a brand new board and on one that has gone grey and thirsty after years of use. PHARMACOPOEIA GRADE MINERAL OIL: Made with UltraPure Mineral Oil - a liquid paraffin that meets the requirements of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) and the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) - blended with natural beeswax and carnauba wax. Solvent free, and tasteless on the board; the beeswax gives it a faint natural honey scent that you notice while you spread it and that settles as the surface dries. A food safe finish intended for the maintenance of wooden articles that come into contact with food, and compliant with the general safety requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. Made in EU. EASY TO APPLY: The conditioner pours straight from the bottle and spreads with a cloth, so there is no scooping and no heavy buffing. Put a little onto the cleaned, dry surface, work it in with the chamois leather cloth supplied and leave it to dry. Use it after every wash to keep butcher blocks and boards working well and looking good. On a board that has never been treated, work in three to four coats the first time, then one coat after each wash. The moulded grip handle steadies the jug and the narrow flip-top cap doses it where you want it, without flooding the surface. IN THE BOX: A 500 ml jug with a grip handle and a narrow flip-top dosing cap, plus a genuine chamois leather cloth measuring 180 x 130 mm (7 x 5 in) - it spreads the product evenly, lifts dirt and polishes the surface without leaving marks or scratches. Two sizes are available, 200 ml and 500 ml. One litre covers about 10 square metres of wood in normal condition, and as little as 3 square metres on wood that is very dry and thirsty, so a 500 ml jug treats roughly 5 square metres. The same range also includes a pure mineral oil for the first, deep-feeding step: the oil goes deepest into the grain, this conditioner leaves the more durable surface.
