Assmann DIGITUS RS 232 to 485 adaptor

The serial converter allows communication between computers with serial RS-232 interface and devices that support RS-485 serial interface standard. The signal conversion from RS-232 to RS-485 results in a higher transmission range of 5 m (RS-232 page) to 1200 m (RS-485 pages). The integrated transceiver allows delay-free use and automatic detection of the data transfer direction of the I/O ports. Detection does not require RTS/DTR handshake signals. The adapter can be used between two host computers (point-to-point) or one host computer and one/multiple perepheral device(s) (point-to-multi-point). Areas of application range from industrial systems to map reading systems, access and payment systems (Maut, ÖPNV, car parks), networked electrical charging columns and mechanical engineering applications.
