Hand refractometer to measure alcohol content in percentage. An optical refractometer for measuring alcohol volume percentages is used to measure fruit brandies such as plums, apricots, etc. and similar distillates such as whisky, bourbon, vodka, gin, etc. A refractometer is a device for measuring the refractive index of a light beam and thus determines the composition of liquid mixtures or the purity of substances. It is not suitable for measuring alcohol in liqueurs, wine or beer. It proves itself as an aid for burning liquor from fruits, mead etc. If the volume of the distillate in litres is known and the alcohol content measured with a refractometer in volume percentages is known, the volume of pure alcohol in litres can be calculated by multiplying both values and dividing the result by 100. Main advantages: Compact device size. The device does not require a battery and does not need to be assembled. Low deviation and high measuring accuracy. High operational safety and long service life. The housing of the device is made of a lightweight and very durable special aluminium alloy. Part of the device is equipped with a soft rubber sleeve for comfortable grip. It requires virtually no maintenance Package contents: 1 refractometer for measuring the alcohol content in percentage 1 piece practical and mechanically resistant plastic case 1 sample dropper 1 screwdriver for calibrating the device 1 piece anti-static cleaning cloth for optical prism Note: The special calibration solution is not included in the box contents. Technical Parameters: Alcohol Concentration: Range: 0~60%; 60~80%; W/W, Accuracy: 1%-2.5% Reference Temperature: 20°C Dimensions: 5.5 x 7.5 x 20.5 cm Weight of Refractometer: 198g Weight of Refractometer including Plastic Box: 348g
