Meadowsweet is a typical European plant. It was initially used only as a decorative and aromatic plant, mainly to perfume wines, beers and meads. The harvest is done between spring and summer, when the flowers bloom. "Botanically, meadowsweet is a perennial herb of wetlands, measuring from 50 cm to 1.5 m. It has a sturdy erect stem reddish, and leaves composed of 5 to 11 toothed leaflets, with a dark green upper face and a whitish underside. Its small white flowers, with 5 petals, are clustered and very fragrant, almond fragrance."
