Description

Amazon It is a honey with a strong character with a strong and persistent taste: for warm palates. Its full-bodied flavour is highly appreciated by honey admirers and finds positive opinions even among detractors. The colour makes it instantly recognizable to an expert eye. It is a honey that is difficult to crystallize. The taste of chestnut honey is predominantly bitter. The palate is first enveloped by a feeling of sweetness which then leaves the room for the aromatic flavor that pervades and persists. It is an intense flavor for palates accustomed to the strong taste of chestnut but also found acclaim among lovers of strong flavors. Provenance: The nectariferous source of chestnut honey is Castanea sativa Mill., the tree from which we can also harvest chestnuts. It is widespread in continental climates, even in Friuli. It is a plant often affected by pathologies that affect the production of nectar as well as the production of fruits, which is why it is not always possible to obtain honey with high content of pollen. Harvesting season: Honey harvesting begins in June, it is one of the last useful and nectar-filled blooms for bees. The harvest is influenced by summer rainfall: in very dry weather the honey will be heavily loaded and made almost in purity. Processing type: Chestnut honey being one of the last harvests and not being subject to fast crystallization is stored in honeycombs until the very late season honey is honed. Beneficial properties: Chestnut honey has many widely recognized properties including a strong antimicrobial quality and can help in the treatment of ulcers and infections. The antioxidant properties and iron content are also higher than other honeys. 250g jar
